Quirky Elevator Lighting

We have recently implemented a number of different lighting control systems for some rather interesting office lifts and hotel elevator lighting schemes.

For one installation, the client required inground lighting fittings placed adjacent to each lift door that sequenced to indicate that a particular lift was approaching.

On another installation, we installed a column of seven diffused panels on the wall beside each lift.

These panels represented the seven floors of the office building. Each panel was colour-coded in sequence from red to purple to blue. As the lift descended from the top floor and passed by, or stopped at each floor, the corresponding panel lit up.

This created a lovely effect as the progress of the lifts were tracked in a colourful and visually pleasing way.

Control Lighting serves a wide range of clients including many from the following sectors:

  • corporate
  • retail
  • entertainment
  • local authorities
